The airport plays an important role in the development of tourism in the Tatra region. The new route to London Stansted Airport has been supported thanks to the cooperation with the Prešov Self-Governing Region, KOCR North-East of Slovakia and OOCR Region Vysoké Tatry and Liptov. There are four national parks in the vicinity of Poprad Airport, with the first popular tourist resorts only 15 minutes away by car, making it an ideal gateway for tourists from all over the world.
“The year 2024 was a milestone for us – we confirmed that a regional airport can be efficient, profitable and attractive for passengers and partners. In 2025, we are building on this success,” said Ing. Patrik Františka, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer of Poprad-Tatry Airport.
