Passenger amenities

The check-in process normally starts 2 hours before the scheduled departure of the aircraft and ends 40 minutes (international flights) or 30 minutes (domestic flights) before the scheduled departure time.

This time before departure must be strictly observed, as the check-in process consists of not only the passenger and his/her luggage, but also security checks and, in the case of non-schengen flights, passport control. The scheduled departure time is indicated in the airport flight schedule or airline flight schedule. The exact information for a specific flight can be found in the airline’s conditions of carriage.

If you are travelling on a charter flight for your holiday, please follow the instructions of your travel agent.

Check-in counters are located in the departure hall.

You need to bring:

  • Ticket (paper or electronic)
  • voucher
  • or booking code
  • a valid travel document

At the check-in desk, you will hand in your luggage for check-in and receive your boarding pass and baggage ticket. You will then proceed to the security check.

Most airlines now offer the option of electronic check-in from the comfort of your own home. The conditions and times for electronic check-in are determined individually by each airline.

At the airport, only go to the check-in counter if you are checking in checked-in baggage (i.e. baggage that will be loaded into the hold of the aircraft). If you do not have checked-in baggage, please proceed directly to the security checkpoint and then to the departure gate.

Important note: Please bring a valid travel document and the boarding pass you printed at home.

Your travel document, boarding pass and hand luggage will be checked according to your carrier’s rules before going through security.

Cabin baggage
This baggage must meet the maximum dimensions specified by the carrier in order to be placed in the cabin baggage compartment above the seat or, in some cases, below the seat.

Checked baggage
is not carried by the passenger during the flight, but is transported separately in the baggage compartment of the aircraft. This baggage is handed over by the passenger at the check-in counter.

Facilities for passengers with reduced mobility
As a person with reduced mobility, you are entitled to free assistance with boarding and deplaning, during the flight and at the airport before departure and after arrival.

In order to ensure that assistance is provided smoothly, contact the airport, airline, ticket agent or travel agent at least 48 hours before departure to inform them of the type of assistance you are requesting.

Airlines are not obliged to provide assistance with food or medication during the flight. If you need this kind of assistance, for example during long flights, the airline may require another person to be present.
