Poprad-Tatry Airport handled a quarter more passengers in the first quarter

Poprad-Tatry Airport recorded a successful start of the year, handling 28 997 passengers in the first four months. This is an increase of 24% year-on-year, with the number of air movements increasing to a total of 2,573.

Training flights contributed to the increase in the number of air movements, which increased by 24% year-on-year. The first charter flights from the Tatra Mountains to Egypt, which started on 10 April, also contributed to the number of passengers.

As confirmed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer of the airport Ing. “The first flights have confirmed with their 100% occupancy rate the high interest of passengers to use the services of the regional airport for leisure travel and therefore we believe that the whole season will be very successful.”

The first flight to Tunisia is scheduled for 3.6.2025, to Turkey on 9.6.2025 and to Bulgaria on 21.6.2025.

According to a survey of passengers who have used our airport services, three main reasons for their choice were identified:

  • the family atmosphere of a smaller regional airport,
  • fast and efficient check-in,
  • secure parking just a few metres from the terminal.

The unique panoramic views of the High Tatras on departure from Poprad-Tatry Airport and on landing, which enhance the travel experience, are also a great treat for passengers.
